Elon Musk’s One Step Closer to the Future by Revealing the Tesla Cybertruck

Elon Musk is renowned for his out of the world projects and dedication to provide something that could leave a jaw-breaking impact on the entire globe. Leaving all that behind, the CEO of Tesla has never left an opportunity to show off his products. 21st November was the date when Mr Musk puts his step in the truck industry by revealing the Tesla Cybertruck.

Prior to unveiling the design of the much-awaited truck, people believed that the highlighting part of the vehicle would be its power-efficient electric motor. When the time came, the co-founder of Tesla shocked the entire audience with the appearance of the electric truck.

Inimitable Design

The truck looks as if it has just brought out of a sci-fi film. The unique design is inspired by games like Halo and the rest is handled by the talented designers. The front of the truck is angular above the seat and the slopes to the rear. At the back, there is a roof panel which opens like a garage door. The 3500 pounds of storage capacity can even handle another bike. Cybertruck also comes with a bed and other storage areas to further enhance the experience.

Mortifying Presentation

Keeping the design aside, there are tons of different aspects that made the Tesla Cybertruck popular among the audience. Undeniably, the biggest highlight of the entire presentation was the body of the vehicle. Elon Musk claimed that the truck is bulletproof and is made of stainless steel alloy. Not only that, the same steel is used by Tesla that is utilized by SpaceX to make their skyrockets.

To exhibit the robustness of the Cybertruck’s body, Mr Musk asked the chief of design Mr Franz von Holzhausen to hit the vehicle with a sledgehammer. He started by hitting a regular truck’s door and moved on to hit the super sturdy Cybertruck’s door. As they claimed, that sledgehammer didn’t even scratch the door.

After the successful hammer test, it was time to test the strong window glass. Holzhausen threw a heavy metal ball at the window and shockingly the window shattered. Embarrassed Franz tried again with another window and the same thing happened. Even though that could be because of the prototype and unfinished product, but that still left an undesirable image in the mind of the audience.

Herculean Motor

Moving on to the power of the vehicle, Elon Musk showed a video of tug of war between the market dominated Ford F-150 and Tesla Cybertruck. The Cybertruck clearly wins the battle when it outpowered Ford’s truck.

The negative vibes just don’t end here for Elon Musk. Just after a day of that presentation, his personal wealth truncated by over $700 million. In his defence, Elon Musk tweeted the backstage video of the tests done with the same ball on the same Cybertruck. The only difference was that it shattered during the event. However, the sad news ended when he declared that Tesla received 200k Cybertruck orders.

As it is a prototype design, there are still tons of features that will be added in the final product. One of the most anticipated features of this vehicle is the solar panels on the trunk roof. If the Cybertruck will be parked in the direct sunlight for an entire day, then it could boost the mileage for around 25 miles.

Pricing and Variants

The Tesla Cybertruck comes in three different variants starting at $39,900 and the top variant at $69,900. The major difference between the three is the number of motors. The base variant comes with a single motor, the mid one with dual motors, and the top variant with tri motors. These three variants not only differ in price and motors, but their mileage varies as well. The single motor, dual motor, and tri-motor vehicle runs for approximately 250 miles, 300 miles, and 500 miles respectively.

A single motor Cybertruck could go from 0-60 miles in just 6.5 seconds whereas the tri-motor variant could reach the same in just 2.9 seconds. The payload is approximately 1600 kg for every variant and the 16-inch ground clearance ensures that the vehicle is perfect for off-roading.

Booking amount is set to just $100 which is entirely refundable. The final amount of the vehicle will depend on the customization that will be done by the buyer. The production for single and dual motor variant will start in late 2021 and tri-motor variant has a production date of early 2022. The vehicle got mixed reviews in the beginning, but the pre-booking showed that people are inclined towards getting the truck for their daily usage.
